Sandy Alanko

The paintings of Sandy Alanko reflect her love of the natural world, its wildlife and wild places. She finds endless inspiration in the salt marshes, fields, woods and harbors that surround her island home. She works in watercolor, acrylic, pastel and oil, depending on the visual effect she is trying to render.

Sandy has a master’s degree in fine art, studied Renaissance art in Florence, Italy, and taught art in public and private schools for over thirty years. She shows and sells her work locally, regionally and internationally.

She is a member of the St. Michaels Art League and a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society.
