If you walked the streets of St. Michaels this year you probably noticed the St.Michaels Art League’s latest – and charming -- addition to Talbot Street: thecolorful and creative banners hanging from the light poles that line the main street.Created by our talented member artists, their original artwork was transferred anddisplayed on twenty banners, which have been an overwhelming hit with residentsand tourists alike. Six of these banners were chosen by two judges to be madeinto posters that were sold by various retailers in St. Michaels. More than 700posters have been sold thus far, benefitting the artists, the retailers, and the ArtLeague scholarship fund – what we call a win-win-win proposition here in St.Michaels! These collectible posters will cease to be produced at of the end of2010, but never fear, the banners of 2011 won’t be far behind.
